What Happened To RTM_Layout?

I'm saddened to report RTM_Layout was tagged by certain Anti-Virus Programs as containing a 'malicious' element. I discovered the problem when this web-site was being reported as Un-Safe (due to RTM_Layout). I took it Offline and challenged those who claimed Runtime Micro was unsafe. They re-evaluated this site and deemed it safe. This goes back a ways.

I tried to contact the AV Program sites and asked them to explain what they were finding. Their reports of a certain type of malware were vague. Searches about the malware signature led me nowhere. I found little on the web other than the AV programs themselves. I received no replies to my inquiries.

Its Interesting to note -- so called "Sandbox Tester sites" had no problem with RTM_Layout. To me, this meant when installed and used, the software did nothing malicious. It just performed layout tasks like it was designed to do. I believe the AV Programs were giving False-Positives.

In my PLANNING section, I removed a page explaining how to "perform Layout tasks" for experimenters. The reason is the article had many references to RTM_Layout. I get Spider errors every days looking for RTM_Layout, searching for its Installer and more. I should have removed the article long ago but wanted the concepts of Laying out a project to be available to folks who are new to project creation. I've ignored the problem too long and finally made this change.

• I cannot make RTM_Layout available for folks to download and use. If I do, Runtime Micro gets classified as offering malicious malware. Since I can't get the program exonerated, I am forced to remove it as a free download. BUT.

I still use RTM_Layout for Projects made for me and this website. I'll still use it to create layout-images for articles on this site.

My apologies to all who wanted RTM_Layout and we're denied the download.
